Dedicated support and guidance during police investigations to ensure you are protected and robustly defended.
At Eventum Legal, we offer expert legal assistance during all stages of police investigations. The police investigation of a sexual or domestic related offence can be extremely worrying. We strongly advise a pro-active approach by the defence during the investigation, otherwise you are sitting and waiting to be charged. Our team of dedicated lawyers are here to support and guide our clients through the challenges they face whilst aiming to stop the allegations in their tracks, before the matter reaches a courtroom.
What you do and say to the police during an investigation can impact hugely on any future prosecution that could commence. The police investigation stage is arguably the most important stage within criminal proceedings, it is the stage that can have a huge impact on the outcome of your case, your future and your liberty.
Being arrested or contacted by police can be frightening and can send people into an overwhelming sense of panic and anxiety. Ultimately these feelings will increase your vulnerability when at the police station, leading you to make rash decisions ,and not being able to process the events as you would if it was not happening to you. This is one of many reasons having a specialist lawyer on your side from the moment police contact is made is important to protect your position, legal rights and to ensure advantage is not taken of you.
Our experienced team is dedicated to ensuring your rights and legal position are protected from the outset. Our tailored approach to all cases enables us to take the steps necessary to put you and your case in the best possible position.

If you are arrested you will be given the option of the duty solicitor at the station, this is likely to be a solicitor or qualified police station representative who is on duty to handle all interviews at police stations within a certain area at one given time.
Their representation is paid for by the government under the Legal Aid Scheme meaning it will not cost you any money.
However, by using the duty representative you could be one of many within that station, or area. We feel that the level of service received when opting for the duty solicitor is miles apart from instructing a lawyer on a private basis. Therefore, if you have the option to seek private advice and representation when in custody for a sexual offence, or offence arising from domestic violence, particularly when instructing our lawyers, you will be given as much time, advice and guidance as is required by you.
Got a question? We’re here to help.

Many clients come to us from other firms who have told them that their case shouldn’t or won’t reach a court room and that it will be “dropped” however, the people who get to make this decision are not your lawyers. Our service pledge is that our advice will always be honest and relistic, it is only with this advice we and our client can properly work together to challenge the allegations made against them and get the best results at the earliest oppotunity.
There are various factors that can impact the length of time it takes for a case to conclude or to reach court, such as; police forensic and court backlogs, the complexities of the case, and the nature of the allegations. At Eventum Legal we understand the worry and stress of waiting for outcomes during in criminal proceedings and believe that no matter how long the wait is you should always be informed and know exactly what is going on and what to expect. Contact us to discuss the circumstances of your case and our lawyers may be able to provide you with some guidance as to likely time frames and what what may happen next in your case.
The only way in which you may recieve costs back is if we successfuly obtain a Defence Costs Order from the court at the conclusion of your case, this can be subject to various factors and we can discuss those with you. We appreciate the money that clients pay to finance their representation, and we have at the forefront of our minds the possibility of obtaining a proportion of this back for clients where we can.
